Former Attorney Joins as Of Counsel and New Office Established. Donald L. Dunn joins the firm's new office in Grand Island, Nebraska, which opened December 3, 2007. Dunn was a partner with the firm for a number of years until leaving in December 1999 to work full time for a large world-wide manufacturing company. His practice targets mergers and acquisitions and business and corporate law. Further details and press release to follow.

Pie Contest Enjoyed by All. Kicking off the first day of fall, staff and attorneys participated in the Firm's first, hopefully annual, pie contest. A three-judge panel taste-tested sixteen delectable desserts. Ribbons and prizes were awarded based on presentation and uniqueness.

Jane Langan and Brian Kruse elected to NSBA House of Delegates. Jane F. Langan and Brian S. Kruse, partners with Rembolt Ludtke LLP, were recently elected to four year terms on the Nebraska State Bar Association (NSBA) House of Delegates. The House of Delegates has members elected based on representation and is the official policy-making body of the legal profession in Nebraska. Congratulations to Jane and Brian!

Rembolt Ludtke LLP Sets Pace for 2007 United Way/Community Services Fund Campaign. Once again, Rembolt Ludtke LLP is a Pacesetter, joining 49 other businesses in Lincoln in getting the campaign off to a strong start. Each year, Pacesetter companies are asked to conduct their United Way Employee Campaign during the months of July and August. Companies who exhibit outstanding leadership, campaign excellence, and community spirit are designated Pacesetters. Rembolt Ludtke LLP is proud to be a part of this campaign.

Pete Wegman Participates in 2007 Freedom Run. The Seward County Independent captured Pete Wegman, partner with Rembolt Ludtke LLP, of Seward finishing the 10-kilometer Freedom Run race. The race, which is part of a national event, was held on July 4, 2007 in Seward, Nebraska. The newspaper caption read "Locals run for the fun of it". Was Pete having fun? Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps the Firm's N-Lighten Nebraska program inspired him.

Mark Fahleson Makes Appearance on LCHR Show. Mark A. Fahleson appeared as a special guest on LCHR: Addressing Discrimination in Lincoln focusing on employment discrimination law. The program, which examines discrimination issues within the Lincoln community, is hosted by the Lincoln Commission on Human Rights on Lincoln's government and educational cable access channel 5 City-TV. Rembolt Ludtke LLP and Attorneys Named to Chambers USA. The Firm and two of its business transactions attorneys were recognized in the Chambers USA 2007 guide as leaders in the Corporate/M&A practice in Nebraska. The Firm was described as "the strongest corporate contracts team in this corner of the globe." Alan D. Slattery and Rick D. Lange were named as leading lawyers in the field of Corporate/M&A. According to interviews conducted by Chambers & Partners researchers, Mr. Slattery is "indispensable - no matter how complex, he just gets it." Mr. Lange received high praise from clients "for his detail-oriented focus and strong work ethic."

Rembolt Ludtke LLP Participates in N-Lighten Nebraska Program. On February 1, our staff and attorneys embarked on a three-month N-Lighten Nebraska program designed to foster healthier lifestyles. The program is sponsored by the Nebraska Sports Council. Three teams, each with ten participants, were created to spark competition in losing weight and logging daily activity for extra points. Britt Ehlers spearheaded the program in our office and the teams were unilaterally named "The Winners," "The Hairless Kruses," and "The Futile Fahlesons." Dan Klaus was spotted running around the office hallways to burn off some extra calories just before weighing-in. In the end, it was Britt's team who accumulated the most points.

Attorney Runs in Lincoln Marathon. Britt Ehlers, along with his wife, ran the half-marathon on Sunday, May 6. The Lincoln Maration includes participants from all 50 states and is used as a qualifier for the U.S. National Guard Marathon team.

Elizabeth Osterman, Patricia Vannoy and Casey Larsen are entering their second year at the University of Nebraska College of Law and Michelle Weber is entering her third year at the University of Nebraska College of Law. We are pleased to have them join us for the summer and look forward to working with them.

Rembolt Ludtke LLP is pleased to announce one of our staff members, Mary Douglas, has been elected president of Lincoln Legal Professionals Association (LLPA) for 2007-2008. LLPA is affiliated with the Nebraska Legal Professionals Association. Mary Douglas was installed at LLPA’s annual Bosses Night Banquet on April 19, 2007. Congratulations Mary!

Sarah Pillen Selected to The State Chamber's Leadership Nebraska Program. Sarah Pillen was selected for the 2007 inaugural class of The State Chamber Leadership Nebraska program. The program is an extension of the Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce and consists of approximately 35 leaders. To be selected, participants must demonstrate skills and experience in civic activities, public affairs and in their professional careers. The purpose of the program is to cultivate new leadership and enhance the future growth and prosperity of Nebraska. We congratulate Sarah on this special honor.
